Betsy Goldfarb, Chief Talent Officer, leads recruitment and selection, professional development and training, workforce planning, and talent operations and performance management at DREAM. Betsy started her career as an AP U.S. History teacher before moving on to become the Dean of Instruction, Assistant Head of School, and Head of School at Hyde Leadership Charter School, a K-12 school in the South Bronx. After leading Hyde’s growth to full capacity, she transitioned to Ascend Public Charter Schools in Brooklyn, NY, where she continued to help launch and grow schools. At Ascend, she started as a Managing Director of Schools, where she launched the network’s first high school and oversaw a portfolio of K-12 schools. Her passion for talent led her into the Chief Talent Officer role, where her core responsibility was attracting, hiring, and retaining staff for a rapidly growing network; while at Ascend, the network grew from 6 to 15 schools, serving over 5,500 students with 850 employees. Betsy has a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a Masters degree in School Leadership from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, where she graduated from the Urban School Principal Program.
