Lori Riddick, Managing Director of Schools, implements new learning initiatives and oversees leadership at all DREAM schools. In her previous role, Lori served as Executive Director of Leadership Development for Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), where she planned and led professional development and training for all principals and assistant superintendents in the district. Prior to her work with CMSD, Lori was the Executive Director of Policy and Practice Services at New Leaders, where she led district level human capital consulting initiatives, facilitated district initiatives to develop new approaches to principal evaluation and principal effectiveness, and coached and facilitated district leadership teams to determine and implement district-wide strategies. Lori also led research and development for the Transformational Leadership Framework, a qualitative research project that examined principal actions and practices in place at schools that were realizing dramatic achievement gains, and co-authored Breakthrough Principals – A Step by Step Guide to Building Stronger Schools. In addition to developing New Leaders’ principal evaluation rubric, Lori has developed leadership standards for several states and districts. Lori began her career as an elementary classroom teacher and has worked with students, teachers, and principals in New York City, Newark, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and New Orleans. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and a Master’s degree in Education.
