Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are the backbone of DREAM. In 1991, it was volunteers who transformed an abandoned lot into our Field of Dreams. Today, volunteers are still at the forefront of our most important work, helping youth on the field and in the classroom so that they can reach their full potential.

“Tutoring is my favorite part of the week. I learn so much from the kids I work with and I always walk away with new perspectives. It's also fun - I laugh all the time.”

Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Lauri

Lauri worked with Juan all year long as his tutor to improve his reading levels. With much encouragement and hard work, Juan not only moved up his reading level but increased his GPA to 3.4! Now Juan stands tall and confident in his abilities to get good grades and in his future.

The whole staff is thrilled with Juan’s growth. Thank you, Lauri!

“When I started tutoring, one of my scholars made a mistake on his math homework and felt bad about himself. I sat with him and we went through the problem step by step out loud and he was able to find the right answer on his own. His smile and sense of accomplishment said it all. I haven't heard him doubt himself since that first week.”
