DREAM’s Reopening Plan

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year at DREAM.

Although we’ll be starting the year in remote learning mode, our team remains busy planning for the day when we can finally return in person. Regardless of when that is, we’re committed to getting it rightWe’re all in this together – because even when we face uncertainty or unfamiliarity, DREAM is family – always.

As circumstances continue to evolve, our policies and practices will change if it means keeping you and our community safe. Read on for more details about how we’ll return to school while keeping each other safe and healthy.

As always, you’re invited to visit our Family Hub for additional resources and supports.

Our Guiding Principles

We’re approaching this year with three core principles. These principles will guide all decisions we make.

• The health and safety of everyone in our learning community – youth, staff, and families – is priority.

• DREAM students will get an excellent education – they will learn as much as they would in a typical school year.

• DREAM will continue to invest in our Grow the Whole Child model and attend to students’ social, emotional, and physical development.

Recent Announcements

We have amended the return date for DREAM’s in-person school opening. We will reopen our schools with a phased approach that will begin on Tuesday, October 13th with select grades, and expand to all grades the following week, starting Monday, October 19th. Please see this document for the in-person schedules for each grade, the first days of in-person school for each grade level, and a calendar overview of our first two weeks of hybrid scheduling. (If your family has opted to remain fully remote, this new schedule will not apply to you.)

In the meantime, families should look out for more information from us, including invitations to a virtual town hall where we’ll share more specifics on reopening.

Resources for you

The following documents provide information about what our school reopening will look like. They outline hybrid schedules for all grade levels, introduce our new health and safety policies, and address questions you may have during this time. All resources are available in both English and Spanish.
