Elementary School Overview
Elementary scholars in grades K-5 receive extensive support with two teachers in every classroom so that scholars at all levels are able to learn and thrive in a positive environment.
13.5 Student/Teacher Ratio
A co-teaching model with one general education teacher and one special education teacher in every classroom.
DREAM’s curriculum ensures rigorous instruction that teaches children to think critically and imaginatively. For elementary school, this includes:
- Physical Education
- Inquiry based Learning
DREAM uses Inquiry Based Learning to put scholars in the front seat. Scholars find solutions to problems on their own and share their discoveries with the class. By problem solving first, they’re able to gain context on subjects and learn from their own thinking. In our classroom, we want scholars talking more than teachers.
All of DREAM Charter’s Elementary School outperformed the district, city and state in Math in 2015-16.
Scholars have access to DREAM’s award-winning REAL Kids after school program.
Meet the Tigers
The Tigers love to cheer each other on. In a room full of fourth-grade scholars at different learning levels, some kids need more time than others. But that doesn’t slow down the Tigers. When a scholar is struggling with a math problem, there is always a peer or teacher to help them find an answer. And once they do, there are plenty of cheers and smiles to go around because they all know that everyone learns in different ways. When you visit the Tigers, you’ll always get a warm welcome.
