In summer 2018, DREAM will submit an application to the SUNY Charter Schools Institute to establish two new schools in Bronx Community School Districts 7 and/or 8. The schools, DREAM Mott Haven and DREAM Hunt’s Point, will aim to serve South Bronx youth in grades K-8, and will eventually feed into DREAM Charter High School.
The first school is slated to open in 2019 while the second school hopes to open its doors by 2022. Both schools will grow to eventually serve 729 students in grades K-8. This steady, deliberate growth will help to ensure that DREAM has the time to learn about the unique needs of the districts’ scholars and families.
We can’t wait to bring DREAM Charter School’s proven model to the Mott Haven and Hunt’s Point communities. More information to follow!
DREAM Charter School prepares scholars for high-performing high schools, colleges, and beyond through a rigorous academic program that develops critical thinkers who demonstrate a love of learning, strong character, and a commitment to wellness and active citizenship.
DREAM inspires all scholars to recognize their potential and realize their dreams.
DREAM’s challenging and innovative curriculum motivates students to apply higher level thinking in a joyful learning environment. Scholars are encouraged to apply inquiry-based learning to take ownership of their education and develop a deep love of learning.
In 2017, DREAM Charter School outperformed the district, city, and state in both Math and ELA.
